Robust Construction for Lasting Durability
The sides of the shelf are crafted from 12mm (1/2") thick birch plywood, protected by a two-sided UV polyurethane coating for enhanced durability and a smooth finish. The back panel is also 12mm birch, providing consistent structural integrity. For the front, we've used 18mm (3/4") birch plywood, also with a two-sided UV poly coating, ensuring a sturdy and attractive facade.
The 3/8" thick base shelf is made from shelving material that is thicker than the industry's standard 1/4" for increased strength with an easy-to-clean white polyurethane coating. All sides feature a 2 3/4" tall wrap-around design with strong dado joint construction, providing superior stability and preventing items from falling off.

Our Express Essentials Collection offers ready-to-ship, low-profile slide-out shelves, perfect for nearly any cabinet in your kitchen, pantry, bathrooms, laundry room, linen closet, garage, and even your office.
These shelves utilize glide rail systems that easily secure to the flat floor of your cabinet or any existing full shelf.
What if you don't have a full shelf to mount to?If you don't have an existing full shelf, or only have a half shelf, you have a few options:
- Add a New Shelf (Recommended): Measure the interior wall-to-wall, front-to-back space of your cabinet. Then, have your local home center cut a piece of shelving material to fit or order a custom, made-to-fit Fixed Shelf here on SlideAShelf.com! Secure this new shelf in place before installing your slide-out.
- Wall or Side Mounting (For Skilled Carpenters Only): This method involves "furring out" or shimming the interior side walls of your cabinet to be flush width the opening. This allows you to secure the slide-out's rails directly to the cabinet walls instead of a shelf.
